Travel & Accommodations

Hotel Booking at Villa Cipressi

A room block has been reserved for our guests for three nights (June 8–11). Maria (maria@mylakecomowedding.com) from our wedding planning team will contact you to confirm your room.

Maria will assist you with booking details, rates, and any requests for additional nights.

Getting to Varenna

Milan Malpensa (MXP) is the main international airport, about 1.5–2 hours from Varenna. From Milan, you can take a direct train to Varenna-Esino station (~1 hour). The station is a short taxi or walk from the town center. Renting a car is an option, but parking in Varenna is limited. Trains and ferries are often the easier choice. Once in Varenna, ferries connect easily to Bellagio, Menaggio, and other lake towns.

Notes

If you’d prefer to stay elsewhere, Varenna offers plenty of beautiful options just a short walk from Villa Cipressi. The town is full of charm, with lovely hotels, B&Bs, and apartments nearby. Some guest favorites include Hotel Royal Victoria, Hotel Olivedo, and local Airbnbs.

Other Transportation

Ferry Service

The most scenic and enjoyable way to travel between towns. Frequent routes make getting to Bellagio, Menaggio, and other villages easy and beautiful.

Buses & Trains

Varenna is well-connected via train to Milan and Lecco. Affordable local buses run from main stations to nearby towns as well.

WEATHER

Average Lake Como highs and lows in early-mid June are 75/62°F. Rain could appear at any time, but it's usually light showers and pass quickly.

Dress Code

Welcome Party – Vibrant Formal

Join us for a chic but relaxed evening in Lake Como! Think elevated, colorful, and fun - cocktail or formal attire that embraces the bright, joyful energy of Italy. Feel free to play with bold colors, patterns, and accessories.

Wedding Day – Formal Attire

Our ceremony and reception will be outdoors at Villa Cipressi, overlooking the lake. We’d love for our guests to wear formal attire that feels elegant, while still comfortable for an outdoor celebration. We kindly ask that guests avoid wearing all red so the color palette remains harmonious in photos.
